Note: always check the connection sizes of your service equipment and vehicle before ordering. Low pressure (LP) connections are not interchangeable with high pressure (HP) connections.
Service adapter for the low pressure side of an R134a air conditioning system. The adapter is screwed onto the service port via the F1/4" SAE female thread and converts it to the R-134a quick connector standard, allowing an air conditioning recharge station or manifold gauge set to be connected to the low pressure side.
The adapter is made from zinc-plated steel with yellow chromate passivation and features a hexagonal body for tightening with a wrench. The top forms the R-134a low pressure service port onto which the hose quick connector snaps; the bottom is F1/4" SAE (7/16-20UNF-2B) female thread. The included dust cap is blue with an L marking — the standard designation for the low pressure side — and keeps dirt and moisture out of the connection.
The low pressure and high pressure sides intentionally use different connection sizes to prevent mix-ups. Therefore, use this LP adapter exclusively on the low pressure side of the system.
