Handheld electronic leak detector, also known as a sniffer, for detecting refrigerant leaks in an air conditioning system. Move the flexible probe along connections, pipes and components; when refrigerant is escaping, the device will trigger an alarm. This allows you to locate the source of refrigerant loss without dismantling the system.
The sniffer features a flexible probe that allows you to reach even hard-to-access spots. A leak is indicated by an audible signal and LED indication around the sensor, so you can monitor the signal strength. Use the Sensitivity Lo and Hi buttons to adjust the sensitivity to suit the situation, and use RESET to re-zero the baseline during the search. A Lo BAT indicator shows when the battery is running low.
The adjustable sensitivity allows you to work broadly or precisely: at the high setting you can detect minor leaks, while at the low setting you can pinpoint the exact location. Operate the device using the ON/OFF button.
