Where ordering goes wrong

If you order on weight alone, you miss the diameter. A 500 gram hammer with a small head strikes more sharply than one with a large head. So always check both sizes. Also do not confuse an aluminium hammer with a copper hammer: that is softer and leaves a burr more easily. For general workshop work, look further at hammers. For specific metalwork, machinist's hammers are a better choice, and for delicate surfaces you reach for rubber mallets.
