Detection equipment

Equipment and tools to find leaks in air conditioning systems. This category covers electronic leak detectors, hydrogen/forming gas detectors, UV lamps, UV leak detection dye and injectors used to trace the source of refrigerant loss. Leak detection is a standard part of air conditioning service: a system that loses refrigerant cools poorly and must be leak-free before it is recharged. Depending on the method, you trace leaks with an electronic detector, with forming gas (hydrogen-nitrogen) or with UV dye combined with a UV lamp. Always check which method and which refrigerant suit your equipment and system.

Leak detection equipment for air conditioning systems

Leak detection equipment helps you find the source of refrigerant loss in an air conditioning system. This category covers electronic leak detectors, hydrogen/forming gas detectors, UV lamps, UV leak detection dye and injectors.

An air conditioning system that loses refrigerant cools poorly and can be damaged. Before topping up, the system must first be leak-free. There are several methods: an electronic leak detector reacts directly to escaping refrigerant, a hydrogen detector traces leaks using forming gas (5% hydrogen / 95% nitrogen) without introducing refrigerant into the system, and with UV dye you add a traceable fluid that you then make visible with a UV lamp.

Which method works best depends on the system, the refrigerant and the situation. Always check whether the chosen device is suitable for your refrigerant (R134a or R1234yf) and service equipment.

At Workshopparts you will find leak detectors, UV equipment and injectors for finding leaks in air conditioning systems. If you have questions about the right method for your workshop, please contact us.
