Quick couplings
A quick coupling always comes in two halves. The plug goes on your tool or hose, the socket on the line. Push the plug in until you hear the click and the balls catch the groove.The profile decides whether they fit each other. Euro is the most common one in the Netherlands and Germany; Orion turns up on older installations and in France. If you are not sure, look at a multi socket: it takes both.

Answers to the most common questions from our customers
Look at the plugs you already own. If one fits your existing socket, that is your profile. Euro is the most common in the Netherlands. If you are unsure, or you run two kinds around the workshop, take a multi socket; it accepts Euro and Orion alike.
An ordinary socket releases the plug the moment you pull the ring back, and the trapped pressure whips the hose away. A safety coupling vents the pressure first and only then lets go. On ten metres of hose at 8 bar that is the difference between a jolt and a smack on the hand.
Thread goes on a fixed point, a tap or a tool. Push-on is for plastic tube and grips by itself. A hose tail goes into rubber hose and always needs a clamp; without one it will blow off.
Usually the O-ring in the socket. It wears from plugging in and out and from dirt on the plug. Blow the plug clean before you insert it and the ring lasts years. If the plug itself is scored or ridged, replace that instead.
On a push-on plug yes, you press it onto the tube. On a hose tail no: that needs a worm drive clamp around it, tightened with a screwdriver or socket. Firm, but not so far that the band deforms.
