Choose the right size range

Combination wrench sets differ in the number of parts and the size range. An 8-piece set often covers the common sizes from 6 to 19 millimetres. For larger bolts up to 22 or 32 millimetres, you need a more extensive set. Always check that the sizes in the set match the bolts you encounter in the workshop. This prevents you from having to order a single wrench for a specific job.

Avoid ordering the wrong set

When ordering a set, it is tempting to go by the number of parts. But a set with many parts is not always more complete. Sometimes it contains duplicate sizes or lacks the sizes you use daily. Check the size list in the product description. Also consider the shape of the wrench: an angled or offset design reaches bolts in tight spots better than a straight one. Choose the design that suits your type of work.

Why material and finish matter

Chrome vanadium is the standard for combination wrenches. It is hard and wear-resistant, and the chrome layer protects against rust. A set with a hanging rail keeps the workshop tidy and organised. You can see at a glance which size you are picking up. A good set lasts for years, but only if the material and finish are right. So do not choose on price alone, but also on the specifications of the steel and the surface treatment.
