Choose the right socket set
Which size and type do you need?
Socket sets are available with different drives. The 6.3 mm (1/4 inch) version is suitable for smaller sizes and light work. The 10 mm (3/8 inch) drive is the versatile choice for daily use. Also check the socket profile. Hexagon grips the bolt firmly. Twelve-point is easier in tight spots, but grips less sharply. Deep sockets reach recessed bolts.
What to check when ordering
The number of parts does not tell everything. A set with 13 parts can contain more useful sizes than a set with 20 parts full of intermediate sizes. Always check which sizes are included. Choose a set that matches the vehicles you see daily. This prevents you from buying a loose socket for one size.
