KUKKO 135-3 Separator Fork, 29 mm Opening

The fastest way to break a ball joint loose: drive the fork between knuckle and control arm and let the wedge do the work. Crude but effective, and on a joint that is being replaced anyway the damaged boot is no objection.

Mind the fork opening: it should just fit around the threaded stud, not around the taper. Too wide and the fork slips off under the hammer blow; too narrow and it will not go in. The knurled handle grips even with oil on your gloves, and the striking head is hardened so it will not mushroom.
