Which drive fits your tool?
Bit sets come with different drives. The most common is 6.3 mm (1/4 inch) external hexagon. That fits most screwdrivers and ratchets. There are also sets with a 1/2 inch drive, for heavier work. Always check whether the bits fit your tool. Otherwise you cannot use them.
Which profiles and lengths do you need?
Look at the profiles in the set. Torx, cross head and hexagon are the most used. Special profiles such as security screws require separate bits. Long bits reach countersunk screws. Short bits work better in tight spaces. Choose a set that matches the jobs you do.
