Insulated Pliers
Working on live high-voltage installations? Insulated tools are a must. They are tested for up to 1000 V AC and meet VDE and DIN ISO standards. Choose from screwdrivers, pliers, and insulating tape. Check the insulation rating, handle material, and whether it has a hanging loop. Pick the right size and type for your job.

Choose the right size and version
Insulated tools come in different sizes and versions. For screws, use an insulated screwdriver with the right size. For cables and wires, choose an insulated pair of pliers. Pay attention to the length of the tool. A longer version gives more distance from live parts. Measure your workspace and decide which size you need.
Where ordering goes wrong
Not all insulated tools are suitable for high voltage. Check whether the tool has a VDE approval. This is marked on the handle or in the product specification. Tools without VDE approval offer no protection up to 1000 V AC. Never order on colour or shape alone. Only VDE-approved tools meet the standard for high-voltage work.
The standard that matters
For high-voltage tools, DIN ISO applies. This standard tests insulation at voltages up to 1000 V AC. The tool must withstand this voltage safely. VDE stands for the testing of electrical safety. An insulated pair of pliers or screwdriver with VDE approval meets these requirements. Use this tool only for work on dead or low-voltage installations, unless you have the proper training.
Insulated pliers are part of our full range of pliers. For cutting cables, choose insulated cutting pliers, and for precision work in awkward spots, insulated long nose pliers. Make connections safely with wire stripping and crimping pliers, and for clamping parts use insulated grip pliers.
