How to choose the right workshop press
Determine the required tonnage
The tonnage determines how much force the press delivers. For light jobs on bearings and bushes, a bench model of 10 tonnes is enough. For heavier axles and parts, you need a floor model with 20 tonnes or more. Measure the diameter of the workpiece and allow a generous margin.
Check the maximum opening and table distance
The maximum ram opening and the distance to the table determine which workpieces fit. Measure the height of your workpiece and compare it with the specifications. An opening that is too small means you cannot use the press for larger parts.
Choose the right model for your workshop
Bench models fit on a workbench and are compact. Floor models stand free and offer more space for large workpieces. Check that the press suits your workspace. Spare cylinders and pumps are available separately, so you can get back to work quickly.
