Leak detection & UV
For leak detection in oil and cooling systems, use a UV lamp and a leak detection dye. The dye must match the fluid, such as engine oil, transmission oil, or hydraulic oil. Always check the dye is suitable for your system. A powerful UV lamp shows the glowing dye clearly, even on tiny cracks. Protect your eyes with a UV-absorbing safety glass.

Which dye suits your system?
Dye is available for engine oil, transmission oil, coolant and refrigerant. Always check that the dye suits the fluid in the system. The wrong dye can cause damage. Also choose the right amount. Too little dye gives a weak signal. Too much can contaminate the system.
What to look for in a UV lamp?
A heavy-duty UV lamp makes small cracks visible. Check the power and wavelength. A lamp with high power works faster. Always wear UV safety glasses to protect your eyes. This helps you see the dye better and prevents eye damage.
Why use dye and UV lamp together?
Dye alone is not enough. Without a UV lamp, you cannot see the dye glow. The lamp reveals the leak, even in hard-to-reach areas. This helps you find the source quickly and avoid unnecessary dismantling. A good combination saves time and money.
