Rivet Nuts
Rivet nuts let you create a threaded hole in thin sheet metal without welding. Choose aluminium for light and corrosion-free joints. Choose zinc-plated steel for a stronger hold. The zinc coating prevents rust. Kits contain multiple sizes. Pay attention to the number of parts and thread size. This gives a clean and secure fixing point.

What it is
Rivet nuts go into thin sheet metal where there is no room for a nut on the back. You set them with a slide hammer, creating a solid thread. Choose aluminium for light work and corrosion resistance, or galvanised steel for heavier loads.
Where ordering goes wrong
Measure the sheet thickness and drill hole size first, because the wrong size will not clamp or will spin. Check the thread too: metric or inch, or your bolt will not fit. Do not confuse rivet nuts with blind rivets, which do not create a thread. For fixing, also look at blind rivets and bolts, nails & nuts.
