The right filter wrench for your truck
Size and profile determine the fit
An oil filter wrench must fit the filter housing exactly. Measure the diameter and count the number of parts on the socket. A 15-point wrench with a diameter of 108 mm will not fit a filter with 14 parts. Always check the specifications of your truck before ordering.
Where ordering goes wrong
Many filters look similar but differ in profile. The wrong wrench damages the filter housing. Then the filter will not come loose and you lose time. Choose the version that matches the make and model of your truck. Strap wrenches work up to a diameter of 160 mm and are versatile.
Working on filters in the workshop
A filter wrench is special tooling for truck maintenance. You use it when replacing oil and fuel filters. The wrench grips the filter housing so you can loosen it without damage. This keeps the filter intact and prevents leaks at the next change.
