Reversible Ratchets

For work on live parts, you need insulated tools. Our reversible ratchets are tested to 1000V. Choose the drive size that matches your sockets: from 1/4 inch to 3/4 inch. Fine teeth give a small swing angle. The length determines reach. Check the insulation class and DIN ISO standard. Reversible ratchets work both clockwise and anti-clockwise.

Reversible ratchets for high voltage

What it is

A reversible ratchet with an insulated handle for work on live parts up to 1000 V. The drive size determines which sockets you use: 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 or 3/4 inch. A fine tooth count needs less swing in tight spaces. You will find them in High-Voltage & Insulated Tools.

When to choose it

For high voltage, a standard ratchet is not an option. Choose a VDE ratchet when you loosen nuts and bolts in a cabinet or installation. The insulation is tested, the handle protects your hands. For screws, use an insulated screwdriver. For deeper reach, use insulated extensions.

Where ordering goes wrong

The drive size is often forgotten. A 1/2 inch ratchet does not fit 3/8 inch sockets. Also check that the ratchet is truly VDE, not just a rubber handle. And mind the tooth count: a coarse ratchet needs more room. Not sure about the set? Look at tool assortments for a complete combination.
