Which version fits your torque wrench?

Torque accessories come in different drive sizes. The most common is 12.5 mm (1/2 inch). But 6.3 mm (1/4 inch) and 20 mm (3/4 inch) are also available. Always check the drive of your torque wrench. A wrong size will not fit or will have play. That affects the accuracy of your measurement.

What to look for in a digital adapter?

A digital torque adapter shows the torque on a display. That is useful if you do not have a torque wrench with a display. Pay attention to the measuring range. Choose an adapter that covers your usual torque values. An adapter with too large a range is less accurate at low torques. A too small range can be overloaded quickly. Also check the operating temperature. In a cold or hot workshop, the electronics can drift.

Why use an angle gauge?

Some screw connections require tightening to a specific torque and then an additional angle. Think of cylinder heads or crankshaft bearings. An angle gauge measures that angle precisely. Without a gauge, you are guessing, which leads to too much or too little preload. Choose a gauge with a clear scale or digital display. A magnetic arm or clip arm keeps the gauge in place. This way you work safely and accurately, even in tight spots.
