Tyre Inflation
Check and inflate tyres with the right pressure using gauges, testers and boosters. Digital gauges give accurate readings, while analogue models are rugged and require no battery. A booster connects between compressor and valve for rapid inflation. Choose a unit you can hang for hands-free operation. Also check the pressure range and connection type. This prevents premature tyre wear and reduces fuel consumption.

Choose the right gauge for the job
For a precise reading, choose a digital tyre inflation gauge. It runs on a battery and shows pressure to 0.1 bar. An analogue gauge needs no battery and is more rugged. Use it without worry in a busy workshop. Check the measuring range. For cars, 0 to 10 bar is enough. For trucks, you need a gauge up to 12 bar.
Booster for quick results
With a booster you build up pressure in a flat tyre quickly. Connect the booster to the compressor and the tyre valve. This fills a tyre within seconds. Choose a model with a gauge. Then you see the pressure while filling. A model with a hook lets you hang it on the tyre or rim. That way you work efficiently and keep both hands free.
Check the connection and the valve
Make sure the gauge or booster fits the tyre valve. Most models have a universal connection for the standard valve. For tyres with a different valve, you need an adapter. Always measure with cold tyres. Warm tyres give a too high reading. Set the pressure to the vehicle manufacturer's recommendation. You find it in the manual or on the sticker in the door frame.
