Saddle tap 40 mm x 1/2" female thread

The same saddle, but with a female thread instead of a pipe port. That screws a valve, a hose reel or an air preparation set straight onto the main.

Same rule here: drill on the top. And keep the drop short; the longer the branch, the more pressure you lose at exactly the moment the tool pulls on it.
