Antifreeze & coolant
Antifreeze and coolant keep your engine at the right temperature. They protect against freezing and overheating. Choose a concentrate or ready-mix. Concentrate needs demineralised water. Ready-mix you pour directly into the system. Check the vehicle's specification first. The colour gives a clue, but it's not a guarantee. Using the wrong coolant can damage the system. Always use the recommended type.

Which antifreeze suits your car?
Antifreeze and coolant protect your engine against frost and corrosion. You choose between concentrate or ready-mix. Concentrate you dilute with water, usually 1 to 1. Ready-mix you pour straight into the system. The type you need depends on the car's specification. Always check the service manual.
Colour is not a guarantee
The colour of coolant gives a clue, but it is not a guarantee. Red, blue or green does not tell everything. The wrong fluid can damage the cooling system. It can lead to corrosion or blockage. Therefore, always use the specified type. If in doubt, ask the manufacturer.
Mind the standard and the mixture
Check the standard of the fluid, such as G12++ or G13. It is stated on the packaging. The freezing point is also important. Choose, for example, -36 degrees for severe winters. For a large fleet, a 210-litre drum is handy. For a single car, a 5-litre can is enough.
Antifreeze and coolant belong with oil and lubricants, along with engine oil and transmission oil. For your vehicle lifts you use hydraulic oil, and in winter you top up your screenwash.
