Choose the right fuel system tool

Which size or version do you need?

Fuel system tools work on various connections. Think of sockets for injection pumps with a specific number of teeth, or wrenches for fuel lines in millimetres or inch. Always check the size of the part you are working on. This prevents the wrench from not fitting or slipping off.

Where does it go wrong when ordering?

Many tools are specific to certain engines or brands. A tank sensor wrench for Peugeot or Citroën will not fit a Toyota. Compare the OEM number of the original part with the tool specification. Only then can you be sure it is suitable for your vehicle.

Which standard or specification matters?

For injectors and pumps, precision is important. A test set must handle the correct diameters and pressures. Choose tools that meet the manufacturer's standards. This prevents damage to delicate parts and lets you work safely on the fuel system.

This tooling sits under Engine & Attachments. Working on the injectors themselves? See Petrol & Diesel Injectors. For setting up engine control you need Engine Timing, and for loosening seized parts on the block, Other Special Tools is the place to look.
