Special Wrenches
Special wrenches are meant for tricky jobs. Pay attention to material and finish: chrome vanadium is strong, chrome plating protects against rust. The wrench size must match your bolts. A six-point profile grips better than twelve-point. For hard-to-reach areas choose an offset wrench or pipe wrench. Check the jaw depth for long nuts. Some sets have a hanging loop.

Special wrenches for tough jobs
Which size and type do you need?
Special wrenches come in many sizes. The across flats must fit your bolts and nuts exactly. Always measure first. A hexagon profile grips better than a twelve-point. It stops the wrench from slipping. Choose a hook wrench when you have room to turn. A knuckle or pipe wrench works better in tight spots.
Where ordering goes wrong
Check the jaw length. It decides how long the nut or bolt may be. A short jaw slips off. Also look at the head shape. Some wrenches are open, others closed. For lambda sensors, use a special ring wrench with a slot. It fits over the cable. Check if the wrench suits your vehicle type.
Why material and finish matter
Choose chrome vanadium. It is strong and does not bend easily. Chrome-plated tools resist rust. That matters in a damp workshop. A set with a hanging eye keeps your tools tidy. You find the right wrench fast. Use the correct wrench for each job. That prevents damage to bolts and nuts.
Looking for a wrench that handles almost any job? Browse spanners. For everyday workshop tasks, combination spanners and double open end spanners are the obvious choice. When a seized nut needs a few blows, slogging wrenches get you further. And where a socket will not fit, a crowfoot spanner saves the day.
