Pick the right type for the job

Special tools for engines and ancillaries tackle jobs where standard kit falls short. Think of jaws for removing seals, fitting tools for crankshaft seals and water pump wrenches. Each type has a specific use. Always check the required size, such as the seal diameter or the wrench size for the water pump. That way you avoid starting with the wrong tool.

What to check before you order

Not every special tool fits every vehicle. Manufacturers use different mounting points and dimensions. Compare the OEM number of the original tool with the specifications on the webshop. Also consider the length of the tool. A longer lever gives more force, but can be awkward in a tight engine bay. Choose a version that suits the space you have.

Hanging or storing your tools

Special tools get lost easily if they are mixed together. Many of these tools have a hanging eye or a convenient size for a tool board. Check whether the tool you need can be hung up.
