Choose the right holder for your wrenches

Holders for every type of wrench

First count the number of wrenches you want to store. Then choose a holder with enough slots. Holders are available for 8, 12 or 15 wrenches. Check that the slot width fits the thickness of your wrenches. This keeps them secure and prevents them from falling out.

Hang them up or lay them down

Check if you can hang the holder on a wall or in a cabinet. Measure the length and width of the holder. This ensures it fits in your workbench or cabinet. Also check the maximum load capacity. Heavy-duty wrenches require a steel holder. Plastic holders are lighter and suitable for smaller sets.

Thread pitch gauges for the right size

Use a thread pitch gauge set to measure threads. These are available in metric and Whitworth. Measure the outer diameter and the pitch of the thread. This helps you select the correct nut or screw. A thread gauge prevents you from working with the wrong size.

These accessories belong with spanners. A holder with enough slots is especially useful for a complete set of combination spanners or double ring spanners. For heavy work you are more likely to choose slogging wrenches, while insulated spanners should be stored separately.
