Door and Locking System
When you replace a door lock, striker or hinge pin, confirm the OEM number and length. A wrong pin snaps off under torque or damages a thread. Check the handle type and decide if you need single parts or a full set. Use a sturdy holding tool to keep the door panel steady while you tighten.

Door Parts and Tools for the Workshop
Check size and type
Always choose door parts by OEM number and length. A wrong pin or claw will not fit or will bend under load. Check the handle type and whether you need a complete set. This prevents double orders.
Where ordering goes wrong
Many mechanics order only the pin and then find the claw or hinge is worn too. Measure the old pin length and compare it with the new one. Use a counterstay to hold the position while tightening. This stops the pin from turning or getting damaged.
Tools that do the job
Replacing door locks needs more than a standard set. A door clip removal pliers prevents panel damage. A clip remover for window and door handle speeds up the job. Choose tools with the right stroke and length for your vehicle. That keeps the locking system reliable.
