Fitting and Removing Discs
The cutting wire does the heavy lifting. You wrap it around the screen and saw through the bond using pull handles. Always check the wire length against the screen's shape. Too short a wire cannot reach around. Use a threader to pull the wire behind the glass. For fitting, scrape off old adhesive and apply new. Choose handles with a secure, non-slip grip for a steady cut. Check that the kit covers all the steps for fitting and removal.

Windscreen Removal Tools: Choose the Right Set
Which version do you need?
For windscreen removal you use cutting wire and pull handles. The wire length depends on the glass circumference. A wire that is too short makes it difficult to cut through the adhesive layer completely. Choose a set that suits your type of glass, whether it is a windscreen, rear window or side window.
What to check when ordering
Check if the set includes a threading awl. This helps you guide the wire precisely along the glass. A counterstay keeps the wire under tension while cutting. Without tension, the wire breaks quickly. Also choose handles that feel comfortable in your hand. This allows you to work accurately and avoid damage to the bodywork.
Why the right cutting wire matters
Cutting wire comes in different thicknesses and materials. The right wire cuts through old adhesive smoothly without breaking. A wire that is too thin snaps easily, while a thick wire requires more force. If in doubt, ask for the recommended wire for your glass type. This makes the fitting process smooth and safe.
