Gearbox, Axles & Steering
Work on gearboxes, axles or steering? Choose tools that match the job. Check the drive size for sockets, like 1/2 inch. Also check the profile of the socket. Is it a spline or one of the hexagonal profiles? For a spring compressor, check the load rating. Many sets hold up to 1500 kg. Look for tools that replace specific OEM part numbers. That saves you guesswork.

Gearbox, Axles & Steering Tools
Which size and version do you need?
For work on the gearbox, axles and steering you need specific tools. Check the drive of your sockets. Most sets use a 1/2 inch square drive. Also check the profile of the socket. A hexagon profile grips the nut tighter than a twelve-point. This prevents damage to the bolt head.
Where does ordering go wrong?
Many tools look alike, but differ in size or application. A puller for wheel bearings does not fit every hub. A spring compressor must handle the weight of the spring. Choose a set that matches the spring weight, think of 1500 kg. When replacing, check that the tool covers the same OEM numbers. This way you order exactly what your job needs.
Which standard matters?
Workshop tools must meet the correct standard. DIN 3113 applies to sockets and guarantees the dimensions. Using a torque wrench? Make sure it is calibrated according to the manufacturer. This way you always tighten bearings and bolts to the correct torque. That extends the life of your parts.
How to choose the right category
For wheel nuts and hubcaps choose Wheel Mounting. There you will find cross wheel wrenches and wheel nut wrenches in the correct socket size. For wheel bearings and rubber bushes use puller and press sleeve sets. They consist of sleeves, mandrels and spindles in different sizes.
Replace suspension springs and spring struts with a spring compressor from Suspension Springs & Spring Struts. Check the drive, 1/2 or 3/4 inch. For drive shafts and wheel hubs you need pullers and circlip pliers. You will find them at Drive Shafts & Wheel Hubs. Press out ball joints with a press from Ball Joints. Choose based on the diameter of the ball joint.
When replacing a clutch and flywheel, the right match is everything. Check the OEM number and then choose tools from Clutches & Flywheels. For camber and tracking use measuring and adjustment tools from Steering. This gets the wheel geometry straight again.
