Many models run on 12V or 20V systems, with capacities from 2Ah to 5Ah. Look at the mounting options too: a hook, a magnet or a stable base makes all the difference for positioning the lamp exactly where you need it. Choose a version with multiple light modes and a pivoting head for directional light. Check the operating temperature if you work outside or in cold spaces. Choosing the right workshop light
Battery voltage and capacity determine runtime
Start with the battery voltage. Many models run on 12V or 20V. The battery capacity, from 2Ah to 5Ah, sets how long you have continuous light. Pick a light that fits the battery you already have in the workshop. That way you avoid maintaining multiple battery systems.
Mounting: jaw, magnet or base
A light must stay where you put it. Check the mounting options before you order. A jaw or magnet works well for vehicle work. A sturdy base is better for floor work. Look for a swivelling head. That lets you aim the light exactly where you need it, without moving the lamp.
Operating temperature and light modes
Do you work outside or in a cold space? Then check the operating temperature. Not every light performs well in frost. Choose a version with multiple light modes.
