Where ordering goes wrong
A set for a different engine code often does not fit exactly. The locking pins have different diameters. The distance between the pins also varies per engine. Always check the engine code in the vehicle data. You will find it on the type plate or in the registration document. This prevents you from buying a set that does not fit.
Why the standard matters
Timing tools must meet the manufacturer's standards. These standards define the exact dimensions and tolerances. If you use a set that does not meet the standard, the timing can be off. This leads to poor running or engine damage. Always choose a set that suits your engine type.
