Choosing the right hook or pin wrench
Which version do you need?
A hook wrench turns nuts with a slot. A key turns nuts with drilled holes. First, look at the nut you need to turn. Measure the width of the slot or the diameter of the holes. That tells you whether you need a jaw or a pin. Adjustable versions have a moving jaw or pin. You can adapt them to different sizes.
What to check when ordering?
The pin diameter and jaw width must fit the nut. A pin that is too thin will break quickly. A jaw that is too wide will slip out of the slot. Always check the dimensions. The handle length also matters. A longer handle gives more torque. But in a tight space, a shorter version works better. Choose the length that suits your workplace.
Why hardened steel?
Hardened steel keeps its form well, even with daily use. You keep a firm grip on the nut. Replacement pins are available separately. That extends the life of your wrench. Complete sets include multiple sizes and versions. You always have the right tool at hand.
