Consumables
Consumables run out, so stock the right assortments. Choose cable lugs and ferrules for the exact cable diameter. Pick hose clamps for the required band width. Select glass fuses with the correct amperage. Measure carefully. A wrong size gives bad connections and downtime.

1-2Consumables for the workshop
Consumables for every repair
Consumables run out and need replenishing. This category contains everything you need for electrics, fastening and sealing. It is organised by application, so you quickly find the right consumables.
Electrics and wiring
For a good electrical connection use cable lugs and shrink tubes. Always measure the conductor diameter and choose the shrink tube that fits. A tube that is too small pinches the cable, one that is too large offers no protection. Use insulation and adhesive tapes with a VDE mark for electrics. Ordinary tape is only for masking. Cable ties keep cables and hoses neatly together in any workshop.
Fuses and fastening
Fuses require the exact amperage. A higher value does not protect the wiring, a lower one causes faults. Check the vehicle diagram or measure the old fuse. For fixing panels and trim use fixing clips. Find the right clip via the OEM number or by comparing the old clip. Blind rivets fasten from one side in bodywork and profiles. The diameter must match the drilled hole. Rivet nuts create a strong thread in thin sheet metal, without welding. Choose aluminium for corrosion resistance or galvanised steel for higher strength. Bolts, nails and nuts are selected by thread diameter and pitch. Metric is common in European cars.
Sealing and hoses
Sealing rings and O-rings are chosen by size and material. A wrong diameter causes leaks, so measure the dimension accurately. Hose clamps are selected by clamp band width and the outside diameter of the hose. A clamp that is too narrow cuts into the rubber, one that is too wide does not clamp evenly. Hose connectors must fit the inside diameter of the hose. Measure the hose precisely, then you are always right. Grommets protect cables and lines where they pass through body panels. They prevent damage from vibration and sharp edges.
Other fastening materials
Grease nipples are replaced based on the thread: metric or inch. The thread determines whether the nipple fits your machine. Circlips keep bearings, pins and gears in place. Choose internal rings for use in a bore and external rings for use on a shaft. Springs and split pins come in sets with tension and compression springs and different diameters. Stainless steel is suitable for applications where corrosion matters. In other consumables you will find special articles that do not fall under a standard type.
Choice guide for the job
For electrical connections choose cable lugs, shrink tubes and insulation tape. For fixing panels and trim use fixing clips and blind rivets. For sealing hoses and lines choose hose clamps, hose connectors and O-rings. Always measure the size first, then you prevent faults and leaks.
